Madrid star Diaz poised for Morocco debut

Morocco star Brahim Diaz could make his long-awaited debut for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) host tonight against Angola

The Real Madrid midfielder could feature for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Semi-finalists if coach Walid Regragui decides to throw him in against the Palancas Negras at the Grand Stadium de Agadir.

Diaz settled for Morocco over Spain in the build up to this international window and many are those waiting to see him in the colors of the 1976 African champions.

He arrived in Morocco at start of the week, Diaz has already had training with his new team-mates.

Having enjoyed a good start to the season with the Los Blancos in La Liga, he brings a fresh rhythm to a squad that boosts of many high profile players.

Another new comer in contention to reach the feat is France-based youngster Eliessse Seghir.

Seghir who was snobbed for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) expedition in Ivory Coast, the Monaco starlet made the cut this time round.
