The Mozambican senior women’s national team coach Luis Fumo has invited 20 players to the team camp ahead of the First Round of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations Qualifiers with their Senegalese counterparts.
Three goalkeepers, seven defenders, five midfielders, and six attackers made the list of players for the tough clash.
Notable foreign-based players in the squad include Denmark-based midfielder, Lucia Mocambique who plays for B93.
Another player invited who is not playing in the Mozambican women’s league is Cidalia Cuta from the Tanzanian side, Yanga Princess.
Most of the invited players are based in Mozambique with six representing Costa do Sol.
The first and return leg of the game between Mozambique and Senegal will be played at Stade Lat Doir.
The first leg will take place on September 22 with the return leg three days later.
Senegal played the last WAFCON in Morocco and will hope to return to the tournament unless Mozambique squeezes an upset.
