  • Pierre Kunde Malong, a Cameroonian midfielder, has joined Khor Fakkan FC on a one-year contract after scoring 7 goals for relegated Dibba Al-Hisn
  • His box-to-box style for previous clubs and Cameroon, where he has over 40 caps, suggests he’ll link defense and attack for his new team
  • This top-flight move could also improve his chances of a Cameroon recall, having been absent from recent squads

Midfield engine Pierre Kunde Malong has penned a deal to join Khor Fakkan FC, ensuring he remains in the UAE Pro League after his previous outfit, Dibba Al-Hisn, faced the drop.

The Cameroonian international, a box-to-box midfielder by trade has put pen to paper for a one year deal .

He comes to this side with a record of seven goals scored in 24 appearances for Al-Hisn, a decent return for a player operating in the central third.

Looking ahead, Kunde Malong’s role at Khor Fakkan could be multifaceted. Drawing from his time at clubs like Mainz 05 and Olympiacos, where he often played as a ball-winning midfielder who could also launch attacks, he could provide that crucial link between defence and attack.

With the Cameroon national team, he’s often deployed to break up opposition plays and add physicality to the midfield. While he hasn’t featured in Marc Brys’ recent squads, this transfer to a more stable top-flight side could put him back in the frame.

His experience with the Indomitable Lions, where he has over 40 caps, brings valuable know-how.

With the Africa cup of nations and world cup in sight , this fresh start at Khor Fakkan might just be the platform he needs to catch the eye of the national team selectors once again.
