  • Leopard Sportif of Douala missed their 64th round Cup of Cameroon match against Krimi F  of Garoua this Thursday at the Bertoua Municipal Stadium
  • Leopard will loss the game by 0-3 when it’s eventually homogated. In addition to that they are expected to be sanctioned as well
  • Krimi will face the winner between Dragon of Yaoundé and Réziere of Noun in the next round of the Cup of Cameroon

Krimi FC have qualified for the 32nd finals of the 2024 Cup of Cameroon.  The qualification of the Garoua based North Regional championship franchise follows the absence of their opponents Leopard Sportif of Douala who failed to travel to the East of the country to honor the fixture.

Leopard Sportif’s absence at the Bertoua Municipal Stadium means Krimi will win the tie by forfeiture, with a 3-0 score and advance to the next round of the competition.

It has been a season to forget for 1963 Cup of Cameroon champions. The Deido outfit were relegated from the MTN Elite Two championship at the end of a dismal season.

Going by the regulations of the Cup of Cameroon for this season, Leopard Sportif will be excluded from the competition for the next two editions and it’s officials will be sanctioned proportionately.

Krimi who are in the competition for the second season running and will face the winner between Dragon FC of Yaoundé and Rizierre of Noun in the 32nd finals round expected to start from next week.

The case of Leopard is not isolated. Clubs have shown less interest in the Cup of Cameroon this season while pointing to lack of resources caused by FECAFOOT’s non respect of its commitment to pay subventions.

A few days ago, Unisport of Bafang and Aigle Royal of Moungo wrote to FECAFOOT requesting to be exempted from the Cup for the same reason.
