Cameroonian midfielder Reinette Abega and 2023 Guinness Super League lead scorer Kameni Alice Flora both scored twice while Tufoin Juliet got the other goal as runaway League leaders, FC Ebolowa beat Caiman of Douala by 5-0 this Wednesday on match day nine of the 2023/24 Guinness Super League season.
FC Ebolowa struggled to take advantage of their dominance in the opening moments of the game but came alive when it was needed.
Abega finally had the breakthrough after 35 minutes before lethal finisher Tufoin Juliet added the second just after the interval.
At 2-0, FC Ebolowa looked to be fully in charge and played with relative ease, dominating Tatiana Eboumbou’s visiting team in almost all aspects of the game.
A quick fire brace from Kameni put the score at 4-0 by the 71st minute but that wasn’t all as Abega rounded the scoring six minutes from time to secure the five-star victory that ensures FC Ebolowa remains atop the championship after nine rounds of matches.
The brace from Kameni Alice takes her goal tally to 12 in seven appearances this season in the championship. She is the outright top scorer and only player to achieve double figures this season.
The South outfit with 25 points is six points off defending champions Lekie Filles and multiple winners Louves Minprof in second and third spot while eight points separate them from third-placed Authentic Ladies FC who are away to Ita Mbong of Nkambe on Thursday in Bamenda.
The match day ten rounds of matches will be played next in grounds across the country.
