Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe and Legends Academy of Kumba experiencing a rare moment together on Saturday, November as both institutions squared-up on the pitch before sharing a common meal on Saturday, November 9 as part of their former’s long-awaited 2023 Interpools trophy and pre-season tour.
ISOHSA narrowly-edged Legends by a Yann Obaphebis goal to nothing in the first game before being pegged back in the second game as Akono Davids Mendo opener was levelled before the end of the second game in the presence of hundreds of fans who came to grace the unique moment at the Kumba Municipal Stadium.
The day which started with the Interpools trophy tour led by captains Ashu Brice and Eben Tomi through the main streets Kumba extended beyond the pitch activities as President Etoh Kingsley of Legends Academy offered a common meal to both set of players before their return to their various bases.
There was another moment of history when presidents Etoh and Angu Lesley swapped their club jerseys as a symbol of establishment of a long-term relationship between the two institutions that traded on Neba Prosper and Tabe Melvin during the last close season window.
At the end of the ceremonial day in Kumba, ISOHSA players and staff returned to Fako with a moment to cherish forever in their box of memories.
The results in the two games means ISOHSA remain unbeaten in four pre-season matches ahead plans to face Bafmeng United FC and Atlantic of Kribi in the days ahead.
ISOHSA will continue their pre-season and Interpools appreciation tour next week in Tiko with matches against Tiko Selection and LESA of Tiko in their schedule.
The tour will continue to Buea in the third week of November with games against Mount Cameroon FC and Al-Jazeera Academy of Muyuka scheduled while a game against an Elite One club will conclude the exercise in Limbe in the last weekend of November during which they will lunch their jerseys for the season and present their new players for the coming season expected to get underway in December.
ISOHSA, who finished atop the Elite Two maintenance playoffs standings and reached the semi-final of the Cup of Cameroon last season are gearing up for their second campaign in the second tier of Cameroon football.
The club coached by Joseph Mbock Maput will continue preparations for all ahead of them this Monday with daily training sessions at 9AM at the Limbe Community Field.
For Legends Academy, president Etoh is putting all together to assemble a group that can better the 32nd final appearance and Regional mini interpools semi-final benchmarks set last season.
