ISOHSA makes winning debut in Douala

  • Isle of Hope Sports Academy of Limbe defeated Leopard 3-0 in their first MTN Elite Two game in Douala
  • Captain Ashu Brice, plus substitutes Mbeng Joel and Mukete Ayong William scored to ensure the victory
  • The result means the team has collected seven points from a possible nine this season

Douala witnessed a masterclass performance from Isle of Hope Sports Academy on Saturday as they scored three goals against Leopard Sportif in their first Elite game in the city.

Skipper Brice Ashu, Joel Mbeng and William Mukete were on target, as the Limbe-based club registered her biggest win yet in the Elite Two championship.

Their first two games had been in front of home crowd, where they defeated Panthere sportif AS 1-0 and played a draw against Djiko FC of Bandjoun.

On Saturday, they traveled to Douala, a city they had never played in before.

ISOHSA that had qualified for the Elite Two after winning the 2023 national interpools in Yaoundé. Their move from the regional championship in the South West Cameroon. Though playing away from home, their game style also saw them gain many supporters and admirers outside home.

Most of whom came to cheer the team in far-off Japoma. The most remarkable were the families of four of their players: Ivan Yatchet , Andre Bouga, Dieudonné Sousia, Junior Gondjoum and Ashu Brice.They had travelled all the way to this outskirt neighborhood just to see their sons play. One that left them a feeling of satisfaction and pride from the look on their faces.

The satisfactory win means the team switch their attention to match day four as the boys of coach Nlend Ayme will log horns with old guards, Rangers of Bafut in Limbe.

Match day five will take them to a familiar home, Yaoundé, to play against the Dragon de Yaoundé. There is hope they will continue their impressive run and challenge for the honors this season.
