- Both players have committed to ISOHSA for the 2023/24 season and beyond
- Njuma, 17, and 18-year-old Mbeng have made ISOHSA their second club in the MTN Elite Two championship
The management of Isle of Hope Sports Academy (ISOHSA) of Limbe have secured the services of versatile full-back Mbeng Joel Atcho and forward Ikose Njuma Conrad from Victoria United FC after paying a 650k FCFA imposed transfer fee for the free agents.
kick442.com has information on good authority that the club coughed out a staggering 650k transfer fee to secure the release of the players though both were surplus to requirements at their previous club.
Mbeng,18, last played an official game for Victoria United over six months ago while Njuma finished last season strongly with OPOPO.
Unfortunately, both players were not retained in the club’s MTN Elite One squad for the current campaign.
Therefore, Njuma spent a season on the books of Victoria United FC, having joined them from Catholic University Sports Academy of Buea on the back of the 2022 season during which he won the golden boot in the Southwest Regional championship.
The management of ISOHSA has now opted to commit both players to their project after meeting the asking price of 650k FCFA to secure the switch. 400k for Njuma and 250k for Mbeng.
Mbeng, a right-back and holding midfielder by trade previously had call-ups for Cameroon’s U-17 national team while Njuma was a part of the U-20s earlier this year.
The teenagers are expected to add value to ISOHSA’s youthful squad in the next few years.
The duo could make their debut for the Limbe-based club on Saturday in Douala as the club confronts Leopard Sportif of Douala in a crucial away fixture.
The Limbe-based club currently occupies the third spot of eight in a tough Pool B, level on four points with Djiko FC of Bandjoun and queued behind leaders Eding Sport de la Lekie with two wind in two games so far.
