Cameroonian duo of Enzo Boyomo and Iván Cédric Bikoue Embolo have been promoted to the Spanish La Liga with Real Valladolid of Brazilian great Ronaldo, a year after they were relegated to the lower tier division.
The club secured promotion back to La Liga with a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Villarreal B on Sunday.
Losing 2-1 in stoppage time, Victor Meseguer levelled and Mamadou Sylla converted a penalty to take them back into the top-flight, in the penultimate round of second division matches.
22-year-old center-back, Boyomo played a crucial role in the achievement – featuring in 38 games, from which he scored once while compatriot Iván Cédric Bikoue Embolo scored twice in 12 appearances operating as a forward for the club.
Former Selecao star Ronaldo is a majority shareholder in Valladolid, who were relegated to the second division in 2023 but bounced back at the first attempt.
Leganes, second, are in prime position to seal promotion with Valladolid next weekend when they host Elche, needing just a draw to stay ahead of third-place Eibar.
