Forward Henriette Monkam scored the only goal to fetch a shock 1-0 win for visiting Caiman Filles of Douala against Louves Minprof on Saturday at the Olembe Omnisport Annex stadium.
The relegation dogfight fixture was sanctioned by the late second-half from the experience forward who took her tally this campaign to three goals and push Caiman further away from the relegation zone.
Caiman in a rich vein of form in recent matches made the most of Louves recent struggles, recording their sixth win in 17 matches as Beatrice Allaisem kept another clean sheet.
The first 45 minutes of the game produced few moments in front of goal but the game eventually produced its talking points in the second segment.
Monkam finally took one of her numerous chances on the day when she beat Ivana Joel Ngantchou on goal for Louves to put Tatiana Emboutou’s side ahead in the 61st minute.
Despite the relentless pressure from the hosts, Caiman Douala defended resolutely to pick up their third win in the past four games – a run in which they have picked up ten points from a possible 12 and kept three clean sheets.
