Camilla Daha scored twice as Eclair of Sa’a edged Amazone FAP by 2-1 on match day six of the 2022/23 Guinness Super League championship.

Naomie Ndjoah Eto’s goal for FAP ended up being a consolation as the struggling outfit surrendered the early lead to concede a fifth defeat of the season.

Eclair keen on improving from their goalless draw against Awa Filles last time out entered the contest keen with an extra desire while FAP was chasing their first victory.

Last season’s vice champions FAP had their noses in front as early as the fourth minute when 2021 revelation player of the season Eto scored her second goal this campaign.

The goal against the run of play ended up being a wake up call Francis Koloko’s Éclair.

Toko Njoya and mates improved after conceding and their forced their way back into the contest.

First, Camilla Daha leveled matters in the 18th minute, pouncing on an assist from ANAFOOT product Suzie Mbiabdji.

Coach Mike Ndoumou’s FAP got into double trouble just six minutes after conceding – key midfielder Brigitte Mbomozomo was sent off following a reckless challenge on Kevin Ossol.

Mbelle Catherine helped complete the turn around almost immediately when she found Camilla who made it 2-1.

Though down to ten FAP pushed Eclair but Francis Koloko’s ladies were smart and adverted most of the incursions for the rest of the half.

Eclair took the slim advantage to the break, but the game was far from over.

Suzie Mbiandji nearly equalized for the Army Ladies (FAP) five minutes after the interval but a fine save from Christelle Beyala Akono keep things unchanged.

Ossol, Daha and Jenifer Aboudi combined to completely break the FAP defense but poor finishing wasted the 65th minute opportunity.

Calixte Chantal made another save to deny Eclair the third goal 20 minutes from time.

Both sides had chances in the final quarter hour but wasted them as Eclair held on to get a win.

The latest three points takes them up to the fifth spot with 11 points ahead of their next outing away to 2nd place Authentic Ladies of Douala.

FAP, vice champions to Awa last season are 11th with just a point from six outings this season.
