Eding have cranked up the pressure on Tatiana Eboumbou as Raissa Mengue’s first goal secured a 1-0 win over Caïman Ladies in match day 9 of the Guinness Super League.
Caïman’s position in the Guinness Super League has come under intense scrutiny in recent weeks after a torrid run of form, and that looks set to intensify after yet another miserable defeat on Sunday at the Bepanda Omnisport Annex stadium.
The much-improved Caïman side played better than the side that had suffered a 5-1 mauling in the hands of FAP a week earlier.
The hosts created a number of half chances in the opening half hour but the final balls to piece the Eding defence was stopped by Mengue.
Eding’s custodian Therese Biloa was the busier of the two in the first 45 minutes as though she didn’t have to make a save she came off her goal area to make a number of interesting interventions.
Eding midfielder Kuete Lambou forced a safe off Patience Blessings Echongu ten minutes into the second segment as the visitors pushed to break the deadlock.
Eding was rewarded for their efforts in the 68th minute when Mengue beat Echongu from range.
The visitors established a one goal advantage which they preserved till the end.
It’s Eding’s fourth win in eight games this season and they occupy the seventh spot on the log.
