GSL Match Day 7 wrap: FAP ends six games winless run, Authentic suffers first defeat

It was another exciting weekend of football, as the Cameroon’s women’s football league dubbed the Guinness Super League, entered match day seven action.

A total of five games were played in the cities of Douala, Yaounde and Ngaoundere.

Five victories were recorded, with just two home sides winning their games, while three teams won away from home.

Ngadeu FF winless in six

Ngadeu FF suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat at home to visiting Louves Minproff of Yaounde. In the match played at the Ndoumbe Oumar stadium in Ngaoundere, the home side held tight and thought they could secure a point against multiple champions Louves Minproff, but Ndong Priso scored a penalty deep in added time, to secure a vital win for the visitors.

Ngadeu FF have failed to win any of their sux games played this season.

Caiman suffers Sixth defeat

Caiman FF of Douala was beaten at home at the Bepanda Annex stadium 4-2, by AS Fortuna.

Christiane Kiki Meva opened scores for Fortuna at the 35th minute, before Ruth Bella made it two-nil for the visitors.

Five minutes after the break, Berenice Azang increased Fortuna’s lead, before Edwige Nsali pulled one back at the 69 minute.

Ruth Bella again turned in a beautiful pass from Téclaire Dipepa to extend Fortuna’s lead, before Brenda Elame converted a late penalty for Caiman FF.

Amazone FAP wins at last

Amazone FAP defeat Eding FF 2-0, in the top match played at the Ngoa Ekelle stadium on Saturday. Suzie Mbiandji opened scores at the 40th minute, before Estherine Nyebe came off the bench to make it 2-0 for FAP who had gone six games without a win.

Mike Ndoumou’s side had recorded just one draw in their six previous games.

Éclair impose first defeat on Authentic FC

Authentic FC of Douala suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 3-0 to Éclair FF of Sa’a at the Annex A of the Olembe stadium.

Daha Camilla, Bernadette Ngaseh and Kevine Ossol, were on target for Éclair, against Authentic FC who finished the game with nine players, following red cards to defender Kamine Nana Touba and goalkeeper Beatrice Allaissem.

It was the first defeat for Authentic FC this season, who have won four and drawn two of their previous six game.

Lekie FF thrash defending champions

Lekie FF made it six wins in as many games, following their routine 4-0 win over AS AWA FF on Saturday. Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga, Raissa Nnanga, Nicole Ndjock and Brigitte Moumazim, were on target for the league leaders, who remain the only team to have won all their games this season.
