18-year-old potential Cameroon international played a telling role this Sunday to help his club Fauve Azur Elite beat reigning Cameroon champions Victoria United FC by 2-1 in a nail bitting MTN Elite One championship match day six game at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Annex stadium.
The EFBC graduate made three big saves and was only beaten from the penalty spot to help Fauve Azur Elite get their second win of the season.
Aloys Fouda and Jean Claude Kameni of Fauve Azur plus Victoria United’s Nathan Douala may have caught the attention of fanatics but Gamale’s saves made sure coach Gabriel Haman’s team won the entertaining contest.
The 1.92m tall teenager is already building a reputation of playing well in big games and is still unbeaten in the championship this term after facing Bamboutos FC of Mbouda, Dynamo and Victoria United.
Though a first timer in the MTN Elite One championship, he could be telling for his club and their ambitions this season if he keeps playing the way he has started.
Next week, Gamale will return to the Littoral Region where he has spent the best part of his football life as his team is scheduled to face Stade Renard in match day seven of the championship in Melong.
