Uganda National Women’s team ,Crested Cranes outsmarted Tanzania 3-1 in a friendly encounter played at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Friday evening.
Goals from Catherine Nagadya , Fauzia Najjemba and Margaret Kunihira saw the hosts come back from behind to edge the Twiga stars.
Tanzania took an early lead through Beskitas forward Opa Clement in the first minute after a beautiful layoff from Enekia.
Sloppy start from home side with Twiga stars making endless runs into their penalty box.
Later Uganda regained the momentum , as Catherine got the equalizer before the stroke of the first stanza.
Not much played in second half , with goals coming late in the final 10 minutes to grant Uganda a sweet victory over the neighbors.
The win comes as a boost to the Crested Cranes camp who are in preparations ahead of a double against Rwanda.
Uganda play the She Amavubi in the CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers with the first leg due to take place on 12th next week.
