The defender who is fresh from the World cup with the indomitable lions of Cameroon, where he scored one of his country’s goals in their three_all draw with Serbia, has been handed a four match suspension, which takes effect from Tuesday, December 20.

Auxerre goalkeeper Donovan Léon, is the most heavily impacted, with a five match ban, three of which are reprieved. Brest forward Irvin Cardona, has been suspended for four games, two of which are reprieved, with a further fine of 1500 euros.

According to www.ouest-france.fr, a total of 54 players, playing at all levels of French professional football, have been punished by the Disciplinary Committee.

Many coaches and club officials, have also fallen in the dragnet of the LFP Disciplinary Committee, notably amongst whom are Cédric Hengbart and Vincent Planté, both former employees of Stade Malherbe Caen. In total, 21 coaches and one manager are sanctioned by the LFP, for non-compliance with the ban on sports betting laid down by the Sports Code during the 2020-2021 season.
