Cameroonian top-flight championship side YOSA of Bamenda have threatened to discontinue her participation in the MTN Elite One championship if their due are not immediately given them.
A circular from the president of the Northwest outfit addressing his players on April 28 decried discriminatory tendencies manifested by the Cameroon Football Federation towards the club that claim their name was excluded from the list sent to government for payment of state subventions amongst others.
“Good morning, gentlemen. I hope everyone is doing great.. Congratulations on the draw of yesterday. We will have preferred a win, but we still appreciate a draw.
“We have decided to stop playing games because every team has received money, but YOSA has not received money. So until we receive the money owed to us by the Federation, we will not go to any games again.. Training will continue as usual. We want to appreciate every player for your dedication, we see your efforts, and our objective is to pay every dime until the end of the season,” president Emma Mima told the players.
This move from YOSA comes barely weeks after Djiko FC in the second tier championship and top-flight championship side Bamboutos FC all abandoned citing varied worries.
It’s evident if YOSA’s worries are addressed they will continue the championship and their battle to stay afloat in the top-flight though it’s been a challenging season.
