Chadian assistant referee Victorine Ngarrassoum will be the lone representative of Chad at CAF’s WAFCON 2026 Selection Course, scheduled to take place from June 25 to 30, as the Confederation of African Football begins preparations for its flagship women’s tournament.

The experienced official is the only Chadian among the continent’s top referees, assistant referees, instructors and technical experts selected for the prestigious gathering. Her inclusion places her among some of the biggest names in African women’s officiating, many of whom have featured at major CAF and FIFA competitions.

Among those attending are renowned Rwandan referee Salima Mukansanga, who made history as one of the first women to officiate at a men’s FIFA World Cup, Mali’s respected assistant referee Fanta I. Koné, Zambian official Diana Chikotesha, and Cameroon’s Carine Atzambong, all established figures on the African refereeing scene.

For Ngarrassoum, the selection represents both personal recognition and national pride. While countries such as Morocco, Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon and Egypt boast multiple representatives, Chad’s flag will be carried solely by the veteran assistant referee.

The CAF course serves as a crucial platform for evaluating and preparing officials ahead of future continental assignments, with participants undergoing technical, physical and tactical assessments designed to meet the highest international standards.

As she joins some of Africa’s most accomplished referees in the camp, Victorine Ngarrassoum will have the opportunity to further cement her standing among the continent’s elite while proudly representing Chad on one of African football’s most important officiating stages.
