UNIFFAC U17: MRI eliminates DR Congo

Some 25 players of the Democratic Republic of Congo under-17 squad, have been eliminated from the upcoming U17 UNIFFAC tournament, for failing the MRI tests.

25 out of the 40 named players failed the MRI tests. While, 10 out of the 15 eligible players were found as non passport owners.

The Tuesday, January 10 , 2023, sad ordeal witnessed by the Congolese team, officially excludes them from participating in the competition. Thereby making it a three nation tournament.

DR Congo becomes the second UNIFFAC nation, to be hit by the MRI test. Recently, a majority of the U17 players called up by head coach Fiala Fiala for Cameroon, were excluded from the rest of the squad by the MRI tests. Thus, obliging the tactician to call up a new set of players.

The Limbe, UNIFFAC U17 tournament is expected to officially kick-off on January 13.To that effect, Cameroon, Chad and Central African Republic (CAR).
