South Sudan 0–5 Senegal: Sarr hits double as Teranga Lions run riot in Juba

Ismaïla Sarr scored twice while Sadio Mané, Nicolas Jackson, and C. Ndiaye also found the net as Senegal cruised to a commanding 5–0 victory over South Sudan in Juba.

Senegal opened the scoring in the 29th minute through Sarr, who calmly finished after a slick exchange between Habib Diallo and Lamine Camara unlocked the South Sudan defence.

Seconds after half-time, Sadio Mané marked his 100th international cap with a delicate chip over the keeper to double the lead.

Sarr added his second in the 54th minute, rounding off a well-worked counterattack after a midfield interception by Pape Matar Sarr.

On the hour mark, Nicolas Jackson converted a penalty after being fouled inside the box, and C. Ndiaye sealed the rout in the 75th minute following a substitute’s run and cutback.

South Sudan struggled to mount any threat, with their best attempt a long-range effort comfortably saved by Édouard Mendy.

Senegal face a pivotal home game against Sudan on 5 September 2025 in Diamniadio, before travelling to Kinshasa to take on DR Congo on 9 September 2025.

Their qualifying campaign concludes with fixtures against South Sudan (away) and Mauritania (home) in October 2025.
