The maiden Remo U-13 football competition tagged Otunba Tunji Lawal Solarin Cup reached the final stage last weekend with the conclusion of the semi final games at Gateway Stadium, Sagamu setting up the final clash between G-Solar Football Academy (FA) and Remo Academy.
G-Solar FA edged Kameballer FA 2-1 in the first semi final while Remo Academy recorded a 3-0 victory against The Cork FA.
G-Solar FA and Remo Academy will trade tackles in the final as Kameballer FA and The Cork FA will settle scores in the third place match.
The final and third place match will take place at a yet to be announced date after the conclusion of school examinations.
G-Solar FA’s journey to the final commenced in Group A where finished top of the table with a maximum of nine points after three games to make it into the quarter final.
In the quarter final, the team defeated Del-Pierro FA 4-2 to book a place in the final where it had a 2-1 win over Kameballer FA.
Remo Academy also won all its three games from Group B and pipped Mulleruwa FA 2-1 in the quarter final.
The Iperu based academy sealed a final spot after a resounding 3-0 triumph against The Cork FA in the semi final.
16 clubs started the journey of the competition and they include Kudos, G-Solar, Remo Academy, Risen Star, Covenant, Golden Star, Master, The Cork, Arise and Shine, Del-Pierro, Zuma FA, Courage FA, Barking FA, Ilisan United, Kameballer FA, and Ultimate FA.
