Panthere Sportive of Nde have ascended to Cameroon’s premier football league, the Elite One following a victory recorded over Dragon this Sunday April 14,2024.

Reinstated into Elite Two just ten days before the season commenced, the team displayed remarkable tenacity, overcoming numerous challenges to secure a spot in the title playoffs as the final qualifier from Pool B.

The former 2015 Cup of Cameroon finalists kicked off their playoff campaign with a solid 2-0 win against Aigle, showcasing their readiness for the challenge ahead.

Their winning streak continued on the second day when they took on Bafmeng, a team with ties to their coach, Soh Simplice. Panther Sportive secured another 2-0 victory, highlighting the coach’s strategic acumen against his previous team.

The third day’s match against Tonerre Kalara Club ended in a balanced 1-1 draw, followed by a goalless draw against Racing on the fourth day, showcasing a strong defensive performance from both teams.

Despite suffering their first playoff defeat with a 1-3 loss to Eding on the fifth day, Panther Sportive’s resolve remained unshaken. They bounced back with a critical 1-0 win over Djiko on the sixth day, a win that was essential for their championship hopes.

On the seventh day, Panther Sportive’s dominance was on full display as they crushed Dragon of Yaoundé with an impressive 7-0 win, clinching the second position in the standings with 14 points.

Soh Simplice, celebrated for leading Bafmeng to Elite Two, has been instrumental in Panther Sportive’s outstanding performance throughout the season.

The coach has however stepped down from his role, having achieved his goal, and now sets his sights on pursuing more ambitious challenges, he states.
