  • He only picked up two draws and six defeats in eight games in charge of the club
  • Gaston Temfack will guide the team this weekend against Colombe of Dja and Lobo

Aigle Royal of Menoua are without a head coach after their lead trainer, Olivier Nankam stepped down from his role following a disappointing start to the 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship season.

According to information from multiple sources, coach Nankam said goodbye to the players on Tuesday after tabling his resignation letter to the club’s administration days after the club’s sixth defeat in eight winless outings in the top-flight championship this term.

Nankam stepped into the shoes of David Pagou after the latter backed off the project to embrace an exciting challenge at Stade Renard of Melong.

Two draws in eight games this season has seen the fans lost patience in the former Astres and YOSA gaffer who also has the same sensation about the El Pacha.

Nankam only lasted four months at the helm of Aigle Royal of Menoua, having assumed the rule of the head coach on July 24.

Gaston Temfack who was Nankam’s deputy will temporarily step into the role of the head trainer. The former Aigle player is expected to be in charge this weekend when they face fellow struggling Colombe that is fresh from a big win against Bamboutos FC of Mbouda.

Aigle Royal are in their second season of their latest stint in the MTN Elite One championship. The club needs a good run of results to escape the relegation zone and playoffs.
