First-half goals from Andre Ngo Billong and Odette Chahkes Fukuin inspired Authentic to a comfortable 4-1 win against city rivals Authentic this Saturday in match day ten of the Guinness Super League championship.

Relegation-threatened Caiman entered the contest at the half-filled Bepanda Annex stadium hoping to take advantage of the deep in form of Authentic Ladies who were on a run of two games without a win.

Authentic had their noses in front just ten minutes into the game after Ngo Billong put her laces behind a fine ball to beat Patience Blessing on goal for Caiman.

The lead didn’t last as Charlene Fanwa pounced on a defensive blunder a minute later to make it 1-1.

The movements from Solange Larkingam and Marie Claire Kibinde created a handful of difficulties for the hosts throughout the opening half hour, but there was nothing to show for it.

Odette Chahkes Fukuin who had been lively in the Right-back, recovered possession in the half way line, played a one-two with her mate. The former Vision Sports of Bamenda defender beat two defenders with the return ball before hitting a belter from outside the box to restore the advantage 32 into the derby.

The best chance of the rest of the first segment fell to Caiman’s Brenda Ebobise who met a poor clearance from outside the box and drove it down the throat of Raissa Merang on goal for Authentic Ladies.

There wasn’t much between the teams during the second segment, though both sides made unsuccessful attempts to score.

Chahkes’ first league goal of the season turned out to be the winner. The game finished on a 2-1 score just a week after she scored her first goal for the club in the women’s cup.

Authentic’s latest victory leaves them on the third spot with their points tally being 20 points, just like Eclair of Sa’a who occupy the second spot.

Title chasing FC Ebolowa were held to a goalless draw by the outgoing champions Awa Ladies.
