French third tier side Nimes Olympique have signed experienced Cameroonian goalkeeper Fabrice Joseph Ondoa Ebogo, who rejected an offer to join Simba SC of Tanzania earlier this summer.
Ondoa had a genuine approach from Simba SC officials about two months ago but opted against joining the club because of his desire to stay in Europe and preserve his place in the current Cameroon squad.
The 27-year-old has been out of contract since his departure from FK Auda over a month ago.
Nimes were relegated to the third tier of French football last season, but nurse plans for a return to the big time going by their activities this window.
The former Sevilla and Barcelona B goalkeeper will discover French football if the move goes through, thus making it a fourth European country that has been his home in his stop-start career.
The ex-KV Ostende man and 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) best goalkeeper as a winner is part of the Cameroon squad named this week, in prelude to the cliffhanger against Burundi on September 12.
