Aigle du Moungo secured a thrilling 3-2 victory over Fauve Azur on Matchday 23 of the MTN Elite One championship, with Nga Essoué producing a match-winning hat-trick at the Annexe Stadium in Yaoundé on Sunday.

Referee Bomba Martin was at the centre of an action-packed encounter, awarding three penalties to Aigle du Moungo, all of which were converted by Essoué.

The visitors took the lead in the 33rd minute when Essoué converted from the spot. Fauve Azur responded through Adamou Dansoho, who levelled matters in the 40th minute before firing the hosts ahead with his second goal of the afternoon in the 60th minute.

With Aigle heading towards defeat, Essoué struck again from the penalty spot in the 82nd minute to make it 2-2 and set up a dramatic finish.

The contest became increasingly heated in the closing stages, with Fauve Azur ending the match with two red cards. Ntebeu Djoko was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card, while goalkeeping coach Taku Mbi was also sent off from the technical area.

Then, in the third minute of added time, referee Bomba Martin pointed to the spot for a third time. Essoué kept his composure to complete his hat-trick and snatch a dramatic 3-2 victory for Aigle du Moungo.

The remarkable turnaround earned Aigle a crucial three points and was powered by a flawless penalty-taking display from Nga Essoué, whose late winner capped one of the most dramatic finishes of the Elite One season so far.
