Cameroon international striker Mbella Etouga has completed a move to Algerian top-flight side CR Belouizdad, signing a three-year contract with the club.
The 24-year-old joins one of Algeria’s most successful clubs after an impressive debut season with USM Khenchela, where he scored nine goals in 25 league appearances.
Etouga finished as the top scorer during the second half of the Algerian Ligue 1 campaign, performances that attracted the attention of CR Belouizdad, who will compete in the CAF Confederation Cup this season.
The transfer represents another significant step in the Cameroonian forward’s career as he moves to a club renowned for challenging for domestic honours and competing regularly in continental competitions.
Having adapted quickly to Algerian football with USM Khenchela, Etouga will now be expected to bolster Belouizdad’s attacking options as they aim for success in both the Ligue 1 Mobilis and the CAF Confederation Cup.
The move also offers the Indomitable Lions forward an opportunity to further establish himself among the continent’s leading strikers while competing on the African stage with one of North Africa’s traditional powerhouses.
