KWPL : Vihiga Queens suffer their first league loss courtesy of former league Champions

Kenya Women’s League defending champions Vihiga Queens were thumped 4-1 by Thika Queens over the weekend on Sunday away from home.

Wendy Achieng and Christine kachali each scored a brace for Thika while the legacy makers got a consolation through Achieng own goal.

The game was a long awaited derby as the 2 sides that dominated the Kenya Women’s league met at Thika stadium.

This was Vihiga’s first defeat of the season as they faced a tight blow in the title chase after an impressive start to the season.

The 2021 CECAFA Champions still lead the log on 16 points while Gaspo ,Bunyore Starlets and Thika Queens are tied on 12.
