African champions, South Africa on Friday unveiled its final 23 player roster for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next month.
Three goalkeepers, seven defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards will be heading to the World Cup.
Former African women footballer of the year and Racing Louisville forward, Thembi Kgatlana is a major name in the squad.
Other notable names on the squad are save hands, Andile Dlamini, Lebohang Ramalepe, Noko Matlou, Linda Mothlalo, Jermaine Seoposenwe, and Rafiloe Jane,
Home based star with Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, Melinda Kgadiete and Hilda Magaila also made the cut.
Desiree Elis’ side will face Sweden, Argentina, and Italy at the group stage of the World Cup at its second appearance at the tournament.
South Africa edge host Morocco 2-1 last year to win its first African title.
