Cameroon international Junior Tchamadeu has officially signed a contract extension with English Championship side Stoke City, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2028.
The 22-year-old right-back was rewarded with a fresh deal after continuing to establish himself as an important figure for the Potters despite an injury-disrupted 2025/26 campaign.
Since joining Stoke from Colchester United in 2023, Tchamadeu has steadily grown into one of the club’s most reliable defensive options, combining defensive discipline with his trademark pace and attacking energy from the right flank. The new contract is seen as a show of confidence from the club in the Cameroonian’s long-term development.
Speaking after signing the extension, Tchamadeu expressed his delight at continuing his journey at the bet365 Stadium.
“I am proud to sign a new contract with Stoke City. I feel I have matured as a player since joining the club, and extending my stay here feels like the right decision,” Tchamadeu said.
The defender also highlighted his connection with the supporters and the club environment as key reasons behind his decision.
“I value my relationship with the fans and the atmosphere within the club. I just want to enjoy the game, give 100% in every match and every training session, and I feel that this is where I can do that best.”
Stoke City Sporting Director Jonathan Walters also underlined the club’s belief in the Cameroonian international and his future potential.
“With his energy and pace, he has the potential to develop into one of the most dynamic attacking full-backs in the Championship and beyond,” Walters said while confirming the extension.
Tchamadeu has already made 87 appearances for Stoke City and remains one of Cameroon’s promising young defenders abroad. After battling back from a knee injury suffered on international duty, the extension now offers the former Colchester man stability and a platform to continue his development in English football.
