Abega Bernadette’s solo strike was all FC Ebolowa needed this Sunday afternoon to beat Louves Minproff 1-0 in the final game of matchday 19 of the 2022/23 Guinness Super League championship.
Coach Kpoumie Oudou’s girls 1-0 victory at the Ngoa-Ekelle stadium is a perfect revenge to their defeat in the reversed fixture played earlier this year.
FC Ebolowa’s attacking line quickly made their mark from the start of the game, with Mendoua, Meyegue and Abega all combining to score after just seven minutes on the clock.
For the Louves, there was little in the way of attacking action in the first half. It was not until the second half that Adrienne Mekuko and Pauline Priso Ndong made some inroads, in the 50th and 55th minutes respectively. On both occasions, Chris Vanessa Signe was unflappable and even saved Ndong’s one-on-one.
Although changes were made by both sides, the second half remained barren of goals but rich in goal-scoring opportunities.
Despite a change of management on the Louves side, the ministerial department club failed to get something from the match.
FC Ebolowa, meanwhile, racked up another clean sheet, consolidating their position as the Championship’s best defence with 4 goals conceded.
With the 3 points from the day, the southern club now have a total of 37 points, while the Minproff club remain on 29 points.
