Ghana beat Central Africa Republic to book 2023 AFCON slot

Ghana booked a slot at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations after beating Central Africa Republic by 2-1.

The Black Stars produced that result at the Baba Yara Stadium in the final 2023 AFCON Qualifiers on Thursday September 7.

Louis Mafouta shot Central Africa Republic into the lead on the 25th minute after he was perfectly set up while on the run.

With 43 minutes played, West Ham midfielder, Mohammed Kudus swept in a perfect free kick to draw level for the Black Stars.

Olympique Lyon forward, Ernest Nuamah who joined the fray in the second half scored the second goal in the 87th minute.

The Black Stars finished group E with 12 points with Angola placing second on 9 points qualifying alongside Ghana.

The Central Africa Republic collected 7 points and Madagascar claimed 3 points.
