Gazelle V Dynamo ends prematurely after Nouhou saves three penalties

Gazelle FA versus Dynamo of Douala ended prematurely on Friday after controversial Referee Ndanga Moundi and his team claimed they felt insecure to continue the match day 29 fixture.

Gazelle led by 2-1 at the time of the decision following first-half goals from Serge Daura and Jordy Youmba and an own goal from Kewang despite Dynamo been handed three opportunities to beat Saidou Nouhou from the spot.

The turning point of the game came in the 53rd minute Captain Joseph Julian Momaso and recently capped Indomitable Lion’s forward Florent Batoum all missed their penalties before the assistant Referee halted the game claiming he couldn’t continue because he was hit by an object from the stands.

Though all looked calm and visibly enabling to carry on with the game, Ndanga Moundi and the other officials walked away abandoning the players on the pitch, thus marking an abrupt end to the game.

For starters, before kickoff observers had expressed discomfort in having Ndanga Moundi and his crew as guides of the contest, not only because it was their eighth game in a week, because they had been noted for controversial officiating and there were rumors Dynamo will be favoured as they needed a win to keep their hope of avoiding relegation alive.

The premature ending has left tongues wagging with many wondering what will be the way forward and how we found ourselves in a situation where every other game in the domestic championship is marred by controversy.

Likely scenario

Going by past experience and the law, the game will be continued from the minute it stopped and the score it had before it was interrupted.
