FECAFOOT SW postpones SWRL semi-finals in bizarre style and circumstances

Agbor Bessong Joseph, the Secretary General of the Southwest Regional League extraction of the Cameroon football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced the postponement of the institution’s semi-final playoffs matches from Wednesday, June 18 to Saturday June 21.

The information was released via a track issued on Tuesday, provoked by the fact that two of the quarter-final matches ended prematurely and a decision is yet to be communicated.

“Accept greetings from the Southwest Regional League office. Just to inform you that the first-leg of the Southwest Regional mini interpools semi finals that was initially programmed to take place on Wednesday the 18th of June 2025 has been postponed to Saturday 21st June at the Kumba Municipal stadium. The Regional bureau is very sorry for the inconviniences this might have caused,” FECAFOOT wrote.

In the heart of all these, there is dangerous calm amongst football stakeholders in the Southwest Region of Cameroon.

The homologation and disciplinary body of FECAFOOT Southwest is expected to decide the future of Elecsport Vs Legends FA of Kumba that ended prematurely due to limited players for Elecsport and Tiko United FC versus Buea City FC that was interrupted by crowd trouble.

That delay has caused the Regional League of FECAFOOT to inform concerned parties that their semi-final matches have been moved to Saturday, while hoping the full verdict will be delivered before then.

The winner between Buea City and Tiko United FC per the verdict will face the winner between Legend and Elecsport that also ended prematurely, while Fako United FC that defeated Talented of Muyuka will face Kumba City, conquerors of Options Sports Academy of Limbe in the other semifinal.

The homologation decisions are eagerly-awaited and rumor has it that historic clubs, Elecsport and Tiko United FC could be the latest victims of the FECAFOOT suspension sledgehammer.
