Yaoundé is set to host the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League UNIFFAC Zonal Qualifiers, with the tournament expected to take place from 22 to 30 August 2026, Kick442.com has learned.

The Cameroonian capital will become the latest city to stage the regional qualifying tournament, following previous editions hosted in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and Kinshasa, DR Congo.

Cameroon will be represented by Lekie Football Filles, crowned champions of the 2025 Guinness Super League. Led by reigning Cameroon Women’s Football Ballon d’Or winner Lys Tiwa Frais, Lekie will be hoping home advantage can inspire them to make history.

Since the CAF Women’s Champions League was launched in 2021 following the inaugural qualifiers in 2020, no Cameroonian club has reached the competition’s group stage. Lekie now have the opportunity to end that wait in front of their home fans.

The tournament returns to Cameroon a year after FC Ebolowa represented the country in the 2025 qualifiers. The South Region side enjoyed a memorable campaign but ultimately finished runners-up to 15 Agosto of Equatorial Guinea, falling one step short of qualification for the continental finals.

With one qualification ticket to the CAF Women’s Champions League at stake, Lekie will be aiming to become the first Cameroonian club to book a place in the group stage of Africa’s premier women’s club competition.

An official confirmation of the host nation, participating clubs and match schedule is expected from UNIFFAC and CAF in the coming weeks.
