The president of the Cameroon Football Federation Samuel Eto’o, is reportedly set to hold a crisis meeting with the coaches of the various categories of the Cameroon National team, following a poor run of results.

Cameroon’s recent defeats to Namibia in the 2023 African Nations cup qualifiers and the U23 lions being knocked out by Gabon, summed up a catastrophic 13 months for Cameroon.

In 13 months of Samuel Eto’o’s reign as FECAFOOT president, the various categories of the Cameroon National team, have witnessed a downgrade in performances. Even the indomitable lions best world cup performance in over a decade, wasn’t enough, as the team has won just three of their 12 games under coach Rigobert Song and currently sit second in Group C of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, behind lowly ranked Namibia and now facing a most win fixture against Burundi in September.

Cameroon has also seen the indomitable lionesses knocked out at the quarterfinals of the last Women’s AFCON, before they also failed to qualify for the 2023 FIFA women’s world cup.

The U-20 and U17 lionesses also failed to qualify for world cups in their various categories, just like the U-20 Lions, who could not make it to the U-20 AFCON.

Guy Feutchine’s U23 lions failing to qualify for the AFCON in their category, now means they will also miss out of the upcoming Olympic games.

The poor results have seemingly not gone down well with Samuel Eto’o, a serial winner during his playing days.

According Canal 2 journalist Marc Chouamo, Eto’o has now summoned the coaches of the various categories of the Cameroon National selections, for a crisis meeting this Thursday at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaoundé. The meeting he reveals is going to unfold behind closed doors.

Many football lovers and analysts have came out publicly to call for the sacking of Rigobert Song and other under performing National coaches, but the former Cameroon captain (Song), stated last week after their draw against Namibia, that he will stay at the helm of the indomitable lions till he dies.

With the turn of events, the supposed crisis meeting between Eto’o and his coaches, is expected to come out with strong resolutions and decisions.
