Éclair of Sa’a edge Awa in tight center derby

Nahida Dibango scored the only goal on Wednesday, December 13 at the Olembe Annex stadium as Éclair of Sa’a edged Eding Filles also of the center region by 1-0 to claim the match day nine derby bragging rights of this season’s Guinness Super League championship.

A brilliant first-half strike from the teenage midfielder was all the girls of coach Francis Koloko needed to get their fifth victory of the season and condemned Eding to a sixth defeat.

Coach Koloko’s team entered the contest seeking a response from their shock 0-1 defeat to Ita Mbong away in Bamenda on match day eight.

Dibango gave the host a deserved advantage after 38 minutes of the contest and they held on till the end despite the efforts from Eding to get back into the contest.

Éclair are currently fifth on the log with 16 points from their opening nine games this season. They are seven points off league leaders FC Ebolowa who have picked up 25 points from a possible 27.
