Crisis hit FECAFOOT begin media crackdown as top Journalist is summoned to the Police

Embattled Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) through its Southwest Regional chapter has dragged Buea-based Journalists Mwambo Edwards to the Buea judicial police on counts of defamation and character assassination.

Mwambo who runs a reputable Facebook platform, Indomitable Lions tracker has been a hardcore critic of the wrongdoings at the regional and national chapter of the football body for close to a year.

Per our sources, the Dream FM Radio Buea reporter was served a summons last Friday, while booking an appointment for Monday, August 21.

Lawyers of the former Secretary General of Fako United FC represented him during Tuesday’s preliminary hearings and the matter was adjourned to Tuesday August 29.

Attempts to get Mwambo comment on the latest development proved futile as he asked for permission to focus on proper legal guidance through the process.

FECAFOOT has endured a tough time in recent weeks, as the media toughens up on some of the questionable acts of the body, thus explaining the greater media attention.

Current FECAFOOT president, Samuel Eto’o preached his consideration for the media during the running to the Tsinga office close to two years ago.

Unfortunately, the 30 Millions FCFA Media capacity building promise made by the former Barcelona striker is yet to hit full gear, two years after he won the highly-contested elections and caused jubilation across the board.
