  • Colombe of Dja is on a run of 282 winless days and counting
  • Colombe have not won in the Championship since last December 31
  • Colombe have not won any of their last 12 MTN Elite One championship matches
  • Union Sportive of Douala have never lost a league game against Colombe

Colombe of Dja and Lobo settled for a 1-1 draw against Union Sportive of Douala on Monday in the delayed match day two fixture of the 2023/24 MTN Elite One championship.

Anyouaze P. scored the opener for the hosts but they were pegged back by a 25th minute goal from former TKC man Pondy Mbai just 25 minutes after kick-off.

Both sides had chances in the rest of the first-half, but the early goals proved to be all for the half.

Though they were goal scoring opportunities for both clubs in the rest of the game, the score remained unchanged till the end thus giving both sides a first point of the season, days after their defeat in the first outing.

The results means Colombe fans will keep waiting for their first win in the league since the 3-1 win against Canon Yaoundé on December 31, 2022.

It has been 282 days since the Colombe fans last celebrated a win – a run of 12 games without a win going into their next game against PWD who beat them 1-0 in the second game of that winless streak – the longest winless run in the history of the club.

Coach Ndongo Emma’s team will hope to end that run against a PWD side they have beaten twice and played a draw in their last five matches.
