Current Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon lead trainer, Jean Baptiste Bisseck has been voted best coach of the MTN Elite One championship for the 2022/23 season while Oudou Kpoumie of FC Ebolowa bagged the Guinness Super League award.
The trainers were announced winners of the awards at the Palais de Congres in Yaoundé this Saturday, December 16, at a glamouros ceremony witness by the Cameroon’s first lady, Madam Chantal Biya.
Bisseck helped Cotonsport to their 18th domestic championship crown last season, having joined the club midway into the season from Canon Yaoundé. The experienced trainer achieved the almost unthinkable before switching to the Lionesses job. Bisseck follows the track of Gabrielle Haman, who won the trophy after achievement of the double with Cotonsport in the previous season.
Bisseck was represented by a mandated official but he sent a video to appreciate organizers and those who helped him to achieve the feat.
Kpoumie on his part helped FC Ebolowa to a record third-placed finish in last year’s championship and has guided the South Region outfit to the top of the Guinness Super League championship nearly midway into the competition this season. The former Eding Filles trainer replaces Ndoumou Mike Josephine who won the award last season.
Both trainers will bag home a trophy and an undisclosed cash remuneration for winning the award.
With this distinctions, both trainers will serve as an example for the rest of their peers while striving to achieve more in the years to come.
