Top performing Cameroonian assistant Referee Atezambong Carine Fomo has been included in the crew of match officials for the second leg of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League final scheduled on June 1 in Cairo.

According to information reaching our editorial team, Carine who was at the just-ended U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final as assistant Referee will be part of the crew that includes Omar Artan from Somalia, Gilbert Kipkoech, Stéphane Onyango Yiembe as first and second assistants respectively while Benin’s Djindo Louis is the game’s fourth official.

The second-leg of the first-ever final meeting of Pyramids SC and Mamelodi Sundowns FC does have top notch officials in charge with Ranshord Abbey of Ghana as the Match Commissioner, DR Congo’s Kabene Safari and Victor Lawrence Lual being Referee Assessor and General Coordinator respectively. Lual has been handed Benin’s Joel Campbell Adjoh as the assistant General Coordinator.

A cream astute Media Officers in Mohamed Elsesy from Egypt and Abdelmalek Kio Koudizie from Niger plus Mohammed Ismail Elemy of Egypt will be in charge of Media operations in the tough event secured by Dixon Okello from Uganda and Musa Balls Jammeh of The Gambia.

Carine who will be participating in her third CAF Champions League final will be in the VAR Room with Bamlak Tessema of Ethiopia.

Romwen Williams’ Mamelodi Sundowns will welcome Pyramids SC for the first-leg game this weekend in Loftus, before travelling to Egypt for the second part of the contest, hoping to land their second CAF Champions League crown while the Egyptians inspired by a brilliant Fiston Mayele upfront who has been simply unplayable in the competition this season.

Carine thus have a few days to catch her breath from the draining AFCON tournament before heading to Egypt for this cracker.
