Former Cameroon youth international Arnold Adrien Eba Tchebegna of Modern Future FC has scored his first goal for Egyptian Premier League side Modern Future FC.
The 21-year-old scored a 90th minute winner on Thursday night at the Petro Sport stadium to ensure to claim all three points for the visitors who had dominated the entire contest but failed to score courtesy of a masterclass defensive performance from ENPPI.
Coach Talaat Youssef’s introduction Eba a minute from time to secure all three points on offer. Eba came on for Egypt’s Mohamed Sadek and scored within a minute of his introduction – driving a bullet header off a well-weighted cross from compatriot Jonathan Ngwem.
Though there were doubts about the goal from the officiating team, the VAR crew cleared and it marked Eba’s first goal since his January switch from Fauve Azur Elite.
Future FC held on for the closing moments and ran out 1-0 winners. The narrow victory puts 9th on the log Modern Future FC within a point of ENPPI with a game in hand.
Eba who was making his sixth appearance for the club also bagged his first man of the match award in Egyptian Football.
Modern Future will face CAF Confederation Cup finalist Zamalek SC in their next League outing. Eba who was part of the Cameroon squad at the 2019 U-17 FIFA World will be hoping to finally get more game time.
