Andrea Sottil has insisted Enzo Jacques Rodolphe Ebosse “will be back soon” after the Udinese Calclio defender hobbled off injured on his return to injury in the goalless draw against Cagliari on Sunday.
The 24-year suffered a ligament problem that put him out for most of last season, but returned only for seven minutes before going off after feeling a slight pain.
Discussing the injury in the post-match conference, coach Sottil revealed the gravity of the injury wasn’t as it was first feared.
“Ebosse felt a slight pain after a contact and we decided not to take any risk by replacing him. The player is 100% fit,” Sottil revealed.
The former Angers defender missed the best part of the end of last season is said to have done his cruciate ligaments, months after he was forced off owing to the same problem.
This latest development is welcomed even by the staff of the Indomitable Lions who hope to have him at next year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament for Cameroon to whom he pledged his allegiance in international football after featuring for France at youths level.
