European sides FC Zurich of Switzerland and French second tier side Paris FC are weighing the option to sign Che Malone Fondoh Junior from Cotonsport of Garoua.
The 24-year-old defender heavily-linked to Simba SC, and on the wishlist of Esperance of Tunis plus Singida Big Stars could have fresh options in the days ahead.
Simba SC officials have planned a Dubai meeting with the player’s entourage and officials of Cotonsport this weekend, but it looks like that’s not enough to deter new suitors.
Che is arguably the best defender in the Cameroon top-flight championship these days, thus explaining the interest from abroad and Cotonsport’s reluctance to let him go at any price.
Should an offer come from FC Zurich or Paris FC higher than Simba SC’s rejected $40 000 (23 Millions FCFA) then the Dar Es Salaam outfit will have to do more to get the player if Cotonsport agrees to sell.
Che joined Cotonsport two years ago from Union Sportive of Douala on a two-year contract. His impressive first season earned him an additional year on his contract.
He is currently tied to Cotonsport till next summer and the club is only willing to let him go at the right price.
Che who has made 68 appearances for the club has won two top-flight championships and the Cup of Cameroon so far.
The Cameroon international and his entourage are having a busy holiday – one busy enough to change his life and career.
