Oudou Kpoumie rued FC Ebolowa’s missed chances as they beat Authentic Ladies 2-0, but squandered the opportunity to score more against the Littoral-based side in a “fantastic” Guinness Super League game this Monday.
FC Ebolowa scored in each half in the match day 12 fixture, which marked their resumption of the second segment of the season.
Bernardette Meyegue’s goal in the 37th minute of the afternoon at the FECAFOOT Technical Center in Odza, plus a nerveless finish from Reinette Abega in the 61st minute, was the perfect climax to an astonishing game, ensuring FC Ebolowa returned home with all three points.
While Oudou was happy to praise both sides for producing a classic, the boss of the South Region outfit was more concerned with the way his Ladies failed to get full reward for their dynamic display.
“We had a number of chances but didn’t take them. However, we did the essential. We don’t usually score many goals. We regularly score one per game, but today we got two. That’s progress. We will continue to work on this aspect.”
The result earns a sixth victory in 12 outings for Nguiadem Annecy and her mates as they push for a better finish in the championship than last time out.
With 21 points from a possible 36, FC Ebolowa are just below Authentic Ladies, and on the 6th spot on the log with ten rounds of matches left before the end of Guinness Super League season three.
FC Ebolowa will clash with last season’s vice champions Amazone FAP on match day 13 of the championship this Saturday. The game has been tagged the Guinnessico – the top match of the weekend.
