The World Draughts has banned its Cameroon affiliate from all activities due to their failure to pay bonuses to it’s Athletes.

A release sent to the Cameroon Draught Federation (FECADAME) on Wednesday, April 5 from the institution’s headquarters stated Cameroon can’t take part in international events concerning the sports.

“Dear friends, as a result of the complains received we regret to inform you that the executive council of the World Draughts Federation (FMJD) has decided to suspend FECADAME from all activities related to the sports with immediate effect,” a portion of the release read.

“The suspension is due to the non-payment of bonuses to athletes who participated in the African championship in November 2021 in Cameroon.

“We have held several meetings to find solutions to this situation, unfortunately none of our proposals were taken into consideration,” vice president Richard Przewozniak continued in the detailed letter.

“This suspension will render your national championships invalid.”

“This decision will be endorsed during the FMJD general assembly in Dracy, France on May 5.”

It is not the first time a Cameroon sports federation is faced with bonus payment problems or has entered into a crisis because of the same situation.

The case of the Draughts Federation highlights the reality in most sports federation on the continent.
