Reigning WAFU-B champions Edo Queens are back to work. The Nigerian champions will resume training on Wednesday, September 23, beginning their final preparations for the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League in South Africa.
Edo Queens have enjoyed a two-week break after conquering West Africa in Burkina Faso, but the celebrations are now over as attention turns to a much bigger continental challenge.
The Benin City-based side will step up preparations with a clear objective: arrive in South Africa in peak condition and compete strongly against the continent’s best.
Training will focus on fitness, tactical organisation and overall match readiness as the champions look to build on their impressive WAFU-B success.
Head coach Moses Aduku will also return to the dugout after missing the zonal championship due to national team duties. Aduku recently travelled to Poland with some members of the Edo Queens squad who were involved with the Falconets.
His return provides a timely boost as Edo Queens enter a crucial phase of their preparations for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
After ruling West Africa, the Queens now have their sights set on Africa. The challenge is bigger, the stakes are higher, and Edo Queens will be determined to make their mark on the continental stage.
