The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has sanctioned Bafmeng United following the abandonment of their 2026 Interpools match against Mintack de la Haute-Sanaga, a decision that effectively relegates the Northwest club from the professional ranks.

In Decision No. 030/FECAFOOT/CFHD/2026, issued on July 23, 2026, the Federal Commission for Homologation and Discipline ruled that the Matchday Two fixture was interrupted in the 14th minute due to the “unsporting behaviour” of Bafmeng United.

The commission also found head coach Ngoran Sighan Henry and players Gong Korn Olivier and Tiku Check guilty of improper conduct during the encounter.

As a result, FECAFOOT held Bafmeng United responsible for the actions of its players and officials, imposing a 500,000 FCFA fine on the club. The three individuals were each handed a four-match suspension and fined 300,000 FCFA, with the club declared jointly liable for the sanctions.

Beyond the disciplinary measures, the decision carries significant sporting consequences. By losing the match by forfeiture, Bafmeng United’s hopes of remaining in the MTN Elite Two Championship are over, confirming the club’s relegation from the professional leagues.

The ruling brings an end to Bafmeng United’s four-season stay in Cameroon’s professional football. The club earned promotion to Elite Two alongside ISOHSA during the 2022/23 season but will now return to regional football following the Interpools campaign.

FECAFOOT has given the parties five days from the notification of the decision to request the full grounds of the ruling. If no request is made within that period, the decision will become final and binding in accordance with Article 82(3) of the FECAFOOT Disciplinary Code.
