Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna has reaffirmed the club’s confidence in Cameroon international André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, describing the midfielder as a key figure in the Serie A side’s plans.
Speaking about the 30-year-old’s future, Manna made it clear that Napoli intend to continue their partnership with the Indomitable Lions star.
“We trust Zambo Anguissa. He’s a key player for Napoli and we want to continue with him,” Manna said.
The club official also confirmed that Napoli have already exercised the option in Anguissa’s contract, extending his stay by an additional year.
We’ve already activated the option to keep him for one more year.”
The announcement puts to rest speculation surrounding Anguissa’s future after reports linked him with a move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium during the summer transfer window.
Since joining Napoli from Fulham in 2021, initially on loan before making the move permanent, Anguissa has established himself as one of the club’s most influential midfielders. His blend of physicality, composure on the ball and tactical intelligence has made him a regular starter, playing a pivotal role in Napoli’s domestic and European campaigns.
For Cameroon, the news will also come as a boost ahead of upcoming international assignments, with one of the Indomitable Lions’ most experienced players set to remain at the highest level of European football.
Napoli’s decision underlines the club’s belief that Anguissa will continue to be a central figure as they pursue success in Serie A and European competition.
