AS Fortuna du Mfou secured an important 2–0 away victory over Aigle Royal du Moungo on Match Day Nine of the Elite One, thanks to a brilliant brace from young striker Asaah Solomon.
Playing at the Melong Municipal Stadium, the visitors relied on the sharp finishing of the Cameroon U20 forward, who once again proved decisive in front of goal.
Asaah opened the scoring in the 34th minute after Fortuna applied sustained pressure on the hosts. The young attacker showed great composure inside the box to finish clinically and give the Yaoundé-based side the lead in a tightly contested encounter.
Fortuna struck again deep into first-half stoppage time when Asaah stepped up to convert a penalty in the 45+3 minute. His calm finish secured a comfortable 2–0 advantage for the visitors heading into the halftime break.
In the second half, Aigle du Moungo attempted to mount a comeback, pushing numbers forward in search of a goal. However, Fortuna remained defensively organized and managed the game effectively to preserve their two-goal lead until the final whistle.
The performance further underlined Asaah’s growing importance in Fortuna’s attacking setup. The Cameroon U20 striker has been one of the standout young players in the league this season, already registering five goals and two assists in eight matches.
With his latest brace in Melong, Asaah continues to establish himself as one of the emerging talents to watch in Cameroon’s top flight. If he maintains this level of form, the young forward could play a crucial role in Fortuna’s ambitions for the remainder of the Elite One campaign.
